There are indications that the vaccine helps with long Covid symptoms, more research needed.

Minty has long covid and has been suffering with it for ages, she is due a vaccine this Thursday - so yes they should.
obviously but need more research on this.
long covid is a bit of a rag-bag and should be decided on a case by case basis
new scientist has a pay wall
am I the first to see this or - - - are you all new sci subscribers?
Read a really interesting article at the weekend that suggests that Long Covid might be a re-reactivation of the Epstein-Barr virus, and thus those with it might be suffering from a form of glandular fever. Around 95% of us carry the Epstein-Barr virus without knowing it.

Do we?
I don't believe the information given by that link and like many links it is misleading.
That link suggests that if you tested for EB virus 95% of the population would be positive for the virus....naaaah! I don't believe it.
What i would believe is that 95% of the population has had EB virus at some time in their lives.
Quite different.
// The overall age-adjusted EBV antibody prevalence declined from 72% in 2003–2004 to 65% in 2009–2010 (P = . 027). The prevalence in 2009–2010 by age group was as follows: 6–8 years, 50%; 9–11 years, 55%; 12–14 years, 59%; 15–17 years, 69%; and 18–19 years, 89%.18 Jul 2013//
however there is at least another site that says the antibody prevalence is 95%

EBV is a herpes virus DNA and may well show latency.
and boys and girls no really
the way to make latent viruses express themselves is - acridine yellow or fuse with sendai virus. - irradiate

and so later covid infection is a theory that will get up and run and has an experimental basis

thing is - - you should if it is re-expressed - actually find whole virus particles.

Latent virus infection ( of cell lines used in vaccines) was big business in the 70s and 80s - and mainly worked out. The obvious thing is that you should be able to recover the virus (EBV) and for long covid- - covid, and if you cant.... then it strikes me as an unlikely mechanism
The appears to be an industry in this

behind a pay wall - reading this reminded me why I decided not to follow cell based virus research - starting at the bottom of course.
well
