For the last 12 -18 months my RHR has been consistently 55/60 and during exercise is rarely tops 120/125 and soon returns to 55/60.
On Sunday I felt like my heart was thumping and my rhr shot up to 136 even though I was only cooking and watching TV, certainly not exerting myself. It stayed above 115/120 most of the evening.
My rhr has gradually returned to 55/60 over the last three days but should I be worried?.
Christ, I wish I had readings like yours...I'm a marginal at 135/100 at worst, more like 125/85 usually....and they have me on 5mg of Rampiril. My Mater managed to hit 85/48 and I was calling her a zombie in the making - much sniggering!
My heart rate is allso low 50 at rest. Occasionaly get flutters/palpitations usualy after spicy food or to many coffee's but it never lasts long. Worth checking with your doctor tho
Not to worry.
You give a good account of ventricular tachycardia which is a fast but regular heartbeat as opposed to atrial fibrillation which is a fast irregular heart beat.
It is extremely unlikely that you have had a heart attack.
Diagnosis is essential to confirm the diagnosis and to rule out any underlying cause.
Make a routine appt to see your GP.
