Crossed legs
4 Answers
Most of the women I see standing in the street, smoking or chatting with friends, seem to stand with their legs crossed round about the ankles. Men never stand like this. Has anybody any suggestions as to why this should be?

2) when wearing high heels it can relieve the pressure from one foot and then we swap thus relieving the other foot.
3) we don't have any particular hiderance that might prevent us crossing our legs unlike you boys!
Its easier for a woman to do this than for a man. Because females have wider hips the top of their legs are further apart and its easier to cross their legs.
Look at a woman walking; they tend to place one foot in front of another wheres a mans steps go outwards. If you're a guy, try walking like a woman, swinging your right leg towards the left, left towards the right. Its not so easy.(suggest you do this in private)
This isn't an answer to my own question, but I don't know where to click to enter a reply to an answer. The two (sensible) replies so far explain that women CAN stand like this, but don't really explain WHY they should.
If you stand on one foot to relieve the pressure on the other, it puts twice the pressure on the one you are standing on, which surely would not be comfortable for very long.
