I know thdt some folk have been offered appointments in error but I cannot imagine any thirteen-year old turning up and being given a jag unless it were appropriate and safe to do so.
I don't think its licenced for children yet. That was the problem with giving it to children who were medically vulnerable. There was a news item a couple of weeks ago about children being involved in research....trial only launched in february. https://www.nihr.ac.uk/news/first-childrens-covid-19-vaccine-trial-open/26870
Very bizarre, Maggie. As Woof says, they're still at the trial stage for children although I did read that rollout for kids would likely be in the autumn.
I am just sitting in the car waiting for my son, just turned 18, who is having his first jab as I type. We live on The Wirral, apparently they are now offering the jabs to all ages. Myself and hubby have had both jabs.
I've only just got my invite. OH got his weeks ago but could only get an appointment about 40 mins drive away. Ridiculous as they are vaccinating in our doctors surgery 2 mins from my house.
woof, according to my sister (who organises the appointments), they are now offering the jabs to all ages. Whilst I was waiting outside there were younger kids coming out, accompanied by an adult.
that's slightly worrying as the official advice is still that it is not licenced yet for children and should only be given when ok'd by the child's medic on a case by case basis
Any more news or clarafication on this please maggiebee as it sounds so suprising, my relatives in Scotland are in 30s and are still waiting. My guess is it wasnt Covid jab but something else
