How Do I Help My Ex Who Has Fallen Into Depression Because Of Me?
3 Answers
So I had this best friend for a while and someday she introduced me to one of her best friends. We liked each other and at some point I asked her out on a date and we got together. I soon realized that it isn't going to work between us and i broke up with her to not make everything worse by waiting too long. I knew the longer I wait the worse it would get. At first she was sad for a while but she soon wnated to do things again with me and my best friend as friends and I was okay with it and it wasn't a problem. A few month later my best friend told me that my ex was still doing very bad and apparently she now thinks I was abusing her by doing things she wasn't okay with, wich isn't true. I always asked her for consent before I did anything with or to her and she told me it was okay for her. Anyway this led to my best friend beeing mad at me for a while until I had the chance to explain to her that it's not true and that my ex maybe made it up or misunderstood. Now my ex demanded from my best friend that she doesnt want her to see me or have contact with me anymore because it makes her think of me and feel worse as a result and my best friend and me desperately tried to find a solution to fix all this, because not only does my ex feel bad, my best friend also came crying to me because she doesn't know what to do cuz she wants to be friends with both of us but can't because of my ex. She is also afraid that my ex may have depression wich was triggered because of me. Eventually we decided it would be best if we didn't have contact for a while until she feels better and has forgotten about me. Now my question is should I go talk to her or do something to resolve this problem? And what could I tell her? I dont want to loose a best friend because of a relationship that didn't even last 2 months. Sorry for the long text I really need help.
