Hand Foot And Mouth Disease In Toddlers

Any suggestions for getting fluids down an 18 month old with the above? He’s not keen on anything much at the moment, not surprising as he has three blisters in his mouth.
He’s perky enough in bursts although eating very little. Just wish we could get a little more fluid down him. He has sucked a bit of ice cube.
Thanks.

Thank goodness for Calpol, might buy a few shares...
Yep, mamy, tried a straw, won’t even put it near his mouth, must be very sore.
Pokes jelly but has never liked the texture.
Patience, patience & more patience. He’s not lethargic, just clingy and wingy, blisters in his mouth and on hands & feet, and rash on legs, arms and bottom.

Thank you so much for the further suggestions, I think we’re just going to have to wait till the blisters have subsided.
He managed a couple of strands of spaghetti with a bit of pesto, and has just had some very cold milk in a bottle to settle him after his bath, and is now, fingers crossed, asleep for a few hours.
Wouldn’t you just do anything for them when they’re poorly?
