My partner aged 23 has just started losing his hais, not massively but it is gradually thinning. Can anyone recommend anything that they have tried that actually works? I know that there are ads for all sorts of products on the market, but I would like an actual real life ad ???? I've heard of an old fashioned 'tonic' that you rub into the area but cannot remember the name... can anyone please help before he pays for surgery...??

Go with it, it's very natural. Do you want him to comb over or wear a rug?

sadly the answer is likely to be to change his parents, as quite a lot of male pattern baldness is hereditary.

Stress can contribute, as can poor thyroid function. Its worth considering whether either of these could be contributing, also doing a a general health check

I understand that regaine does work

personally I think that young bald men are cute!!

If his dad lost his hair then there's not a lot he can do.
I dont believe that any of the treatments on the market work, but do believe that massaging his scalp might help to keep the follicles alive, and hence, he may re grow some of his hair, but as advised above it is hereditery

I don't think anything works except hair transplants, or castration .... which happened to a bald friend of mine for medical reasons and all his hair came back. So if he wants to go down the very expensive road of surgery (I think they move bits of your scalp but I am not an expert) then of course that is his decision, but a lot of men do accept it and it is fashionable at the moment, however I agree that 23 is very young.
