Do You Think There Will Be Another Lockdown?
113 Answers
Hi there
Do you think there will be another lockdown this winter. I am in Scotland. I will be devastated if there is. I have organised a 50th Birthday party for myself early January. I see so many people not wearing masks on public transport or shops and a lot of unvaccinated people. It really infuriates me. I will have had booster by this time tomorrow

I can't be certain, but I suspect that isn't true. On the subject of face masks, there's nothing new there. I think there was mass unrest n the US at the time of the pandemic after WWI, at the requirement to wear face masks.

RedHelen: "The question was ‘do you think there will be another lockdown inferring that a yes or no answer would be suffice, therefore Annea nor I need to give a larger response. " - did you also note the word "think" in there? That implies that the answer would have been thought about. Clearly not in your cases because no reasoning appears to be forthcoming.
//16th November last year there were 168 deaths from Covid in the UK. No one was vaccinated.
Tuesday this week there were 262 daily deaths and most people have been vaccinated.//
You keep on quoting a single day’s figures (most of them incorrectly, but no matter). As I said earlier, try Monday 1st November (when there were 40) and Monday 8th (57). As a very minimum you should consider a seven day average because nobody seems to be able to count properly the number of deaths which occurred over the weekend.
//No thinks the infected should just go out or work as normal for the sake of the economy..//
Not simply for the sake of the economy, bob, as I’m sure you know if you read my post properly. The damage to (non-Covid) health, to children’s education and people’s general wellbeing has been enormous.

I honestly don’t get why he does it. The UK is in better shape than most of Europe now, and yet he still banks on about the number of positive tests, still gets numbers wrong, and still gives numbers with no context.
It’s as though he wants the UK to be the worst; it’s just weird.
To be fair, given some of the times he posts nonsense, he’s probably drunk, but even so.

I am not cherry picking, I am providing data points to back up my opinion.
First I said we are worse now than when we come out of lockdown - that was dismissed as irrelevant.
Second I said we are worse than when we went into the third lockdown - that was dismissed as irrelevant.
So I compared it to the same time last year - that too was ignored.
My take is that we can compare the present data to the past, and tweak for new variables such as vaccines, and make aneducated guess at that. But we are all guessing, we don’t know.
By all means shoot down my guess, but if you don’t like my data, supply other figures, don’t dismiss it then offer nothing in reply.
