Who Is Dr Poolman?

I'm seeing various consultants at the local hospital and they've kindly sent me copies of the letters for many years that they've sent to the practice. All the letters were addressed to the GP partner I was seeing most often. The GP concerned retired a couple of years ago and since then, I've seen various other partners and locums. This morning, I've had a copy of a consultants letter from the hospital addressed to a "Dr Poolman". I know there is no such person in the surgery.
I just wonder if this is the way a consultant might write to the doctors at the practice collectively rather than an individual doctor ie "pooling" them together without writing to one specifically. It's just me lateral thinking about this but I really don't think that the only Poolman I can find in the Medical Directory has moved into my area. I just wonder if I'm on the right track with this.

I`ve had the same. Had a letter from the hospital naming some random doctor who is not and never has been associated with my GP practice. I assumed it was an admin error.

Oops sorry, got the name wrong. It was addressed to a "Dr Pooled"

if he was a specialist consultant would'nt he be called Mr Pooled not Dr Pooled?

More likely its just the term they use when its a GP pool and theres no specific GP alocated to you

An unncommon name so it may well be a term for a pooled GP
