I had my first one for a few years last night. I met a very attractive, slim but curvy, young blonde and once I had explained that she was in a lucid dream we got on very well together! Very strange experience, and I find it difficult to know what enables such states of mind.
Does anyone else here have such dreams?

Once I dreamt that I was in a bunk down the back of a 747 and we were about to ditch in the sea. The dream made me wake up and I was in a bunk down the back of a 747. That was a bit scary.

pat, you're not mad at all.
Thank you atheist - I often wonder! I also hallucinate on strong painkillers even in small doses and other medication. Not good for someone with chronic pain!! My GP tells me that it's all part of my metabolism and I'm not alone. Perhaps Sqad could explain.
atheist. I am often travelling in passenger jets that don't fly, just go down the roads. And I have also been up in space. Crazy, but quite interesting. And I'm often been back in School or College usually lost again, cos I can't find the classroom I meant to be in. And often I lose my shoes in mud. Told you, I'm mad!! ;0)
I`ve only had lucid dreams when I am in very shallow sleep and I can go back into the dream because it is so nice that I don't want to wake up.
interesting ... i have never even heard of lucid dreams. i also presumed wet dreams (or nocturnal seminal emissions as sqad so delicately puts it) happened for every boy, but it seems not
I think it does Bednobs, maybe it’s just not talked about. Our two boys had them, no big deal, just part of growing up. We had ‘the talk’ before anything happened so embarrassment wasn’t an issue.
That happens to me, but the nice dreams are rare. I know im a very shallow sleeper. Mr Lottie is a deep sleeper and could sleep on a clothes line. He can't remember dreams I envy him. Funnily enough I can sleep better in the day time and dreams are less frequent.
My last remark was to 2375j !! I dont have messy dreams that boy have!
I have the flying down the road dreams as well. Sitting in the flight deck, on taxi in a country lane and worrying that the wings are going to hit the hedgerows and we won't get enough lift to avoid the telegraph wires up ahead. I always seem to wake up before it all goes pear shaped though.
That's exactly it 237SJ!! And it all seems quite normal avoiding the traffic. And I too am in the cockpit!
// i also presumed wet dreams (or nocturnal seminal emissions as sqad so delicately puts it)//

must be quite common - when loud mouth Dr James bearded The Sadge over compulsory covid jabs, a critic ( leddy doctor) called it "the anti-vaxxer's ultimate wet dream". (The Times).

who ever hallucinates on small doses of pain killers: your metab is shunting the drug down a path where the products are hallucinogenic. Must be age related, I now hallucinate wildly on 5 mg codeine.
And sometimes the road/runway goes downhill and around a bend with a car coming in the opposite direction and I think "We're not going to get out of this one"

You had a wet dream...
So what?
like pat, I have bad dreams that I can recognise and try to wake from, with screams that turn out irl to be murmurs. Not otherwise though. Lucid dreams needn't be bad (or messy), they're just ones where the dreamers find they can control what's being dreamt about while they're still having them. I believe it's quite rare.
Nocturnal emissions aren't exclusive to males.

I have lucid dreams and can sometimes change the direction they take.

I also hallucinate on dropping off or waking up, due to Charles Bonnet syndrome.
pat.

////Perhaps Sqad could explain.///

I have no idea.

I learnt about wet dreams at school.
At about thee same time I learned about girls having periods.
(it was called sex education at the time)

Thought things might have moved on since then....
I've experienced these types of dreams. Also where I'm able to fly. Once I felt I was really there above an old inactive volcano. On the top, it was like looking at a giant plug hole in a kitchen sink, with metal criss cross bars. I felt it was man made. Still wondering if there is such a volcano like this! :-)
I have enough bother leading a lucid reality.
