Anal Bleeding

For the past 2 weeks, Ive had bleeding from the arris every morning when going to the toilet.
Didnt think too much about it as Ive had several episodes of bleeding over time.
(But not for two weeks daily)
One such (about 15 yrs ago) resulted in a colonoscopy and the removal of polyps.
Another time it turned out to be internal hemorrhoids which were cauterized.
And ive had a few such episodes (that lasted for a day or two over the years) which Ive thought nothing off given previous experience and been just fine with afterwards.

However the last two weeks have give me a cause for concern.
1) My motions have been 'sloppy' (sorry, just couldnt find the right word) BUT not diarrehoea
2) Often dont feel like Ive emptied myself fully and and have to have several goes in the morning.
3) Often feel the need to go throughout the day (urgently) but nothing there.
4) Feel bloated
5) loss of appetite. Im overweight but just cant face food anymore.
At one time I could eat an horse now I struggle to eat a penguin (biscuite)

Im off work on Friday, so will *TRY* to get a GP appointment then (doubtful)
but in the meantime any ideas?
(Yes I know. Colon cancer etc....just want to know anyone else had these symptons)

Not unduly worried because the blood has (generally) been light in color
(Although some 'later' stools' have had dark red patches)

Thanks.

Pat, I know that high fibre food is not necessarily going to be the panacea for whatever Nailit's problem is. However, it might help in the long run, depending on the diagnosis.
Just trying to be helpful.
to the doc, nailit, even if precautionary.....this was the way that my old man found out he had colon cancer. Not saying that you have but, mon cher, get it effing well checked out. Better to know early as recovery rates are far higher than when he contracted it in 1985, leaving the planet in 89, aged 58.
Tell reception that you have rang 111 & they’ve said it’s urgent and you need to see your doctor ASAP x
Have you seen a doctor?

Late reply barry (sorry) Yes ive seen a doctor. (miracles never cease)...
Been referred to colon/rectal clinic. (+ bloods, stool samples etc).
Ive got internal piles again but due to having a history of bowel cancer in family, on mums side, and previous removal of polyps etc, Doc has reffered me to colon clinic.
Just waiting to see what happens now.
Thanks.
Glad they are on the case and being thorough.
Just a post to send you my good wishes for your test results, Nailit.

If the immediate cause has been diagnosed as internal piles though, you've probably nothing to worry about anyway. (I mentioned some anal bleeding to my cancer consultant a few months ago. He simply dismissed it, saying "Just stick some Anusol up there"!)

Good luck!

Thanks Mamy.
Have to say after 2 years of not been able to see a doctor, the one I saw was fantastic. I was in his surgery for nearly 30 mins.
(Having said that I also mentioned about my blood pressure meds not suiting me, stomach cramps etc.) Changed meds and the only side effect is that im peeing for England now. Can live with that though!

Cheers Chris.

Think Ive said before that most blood was light in colour anyway so wasnt particularly worried.
But thank you anyway :-)

''Anusol''
Going have to look that one up....
Glad your meds have been altered too.

Best wishes.
Hope it is all something and nothing, easily sorted. Fingers crossed for you, nailit.

Thanks Mamy & barry...
Nailit; don't forget that it's pronounced "Anus oil." If the pharmacist is hard of hearing you'll have to shout it out loud when you ask for it.
Bst wishes!

Lol Lol.

My pharmacist is west Indian and I cant tell a word she says anyway.
With a mask on (which she insists upon) its even worse......
This could be fun.
Haven't you been having this problem since a long time ?

Have you had a colonoscopy ?

Yes, i have a history of bleeding from the arris!
1st time I had a colonoscopy and had polyps removed.
2nd time I had piles cauterized.

had a few episodes since.
(which I put down to piles)
Take no notice of Atheist, Nails. Call it Anew sol, not Anus oil.

Lol....
Dont know what to call it...
Never heard of it b4 anyway.

''Hey, chemist...got something for my arris? it keeps leeking blood''
Take great care not to pick up Solvol Autosol or you get the ring of confidence.

Dated myself there. :-)
Here you go Nailit...might be cheapest on Amazon. But speak to pharmacist first for advice.
My brother had a similar, recurring problem...so bad it caused anaemia. Think he got his bum cauterised.
