A problem with alcohol is the more you drink the more you become used to it so you need to up the intake to feel any effect. I guess the OP drinks his 1/2 bottle but isn't reeling around drunk whereas a teetotaller consuming the same amount would be blotto.
Maybe having time off - like STOPtober or NOvember can reset your tolerance & return you to safer (?) levels.
its a yes from me too, having known any number of alcoholics, their lives were blighted by their dependency on booze. Most died quite young and were ravaged by liver damage and heart problems.
I would if i were you start off by seeing the GP and explain your problem then go from there.
Possibly but if you function well, so what!
As long as you are happy who cares.
We all die from something,
you have the option of choosing your method of death.
^^^^ True, we each make our own decisions. I'm 75 & have been a moderate/heavy drinker for most of my life since age 15 (mostly before there were recommended limits).
I'm told I have a fatty liver & I am a bit overweight. If I gave up drinking now how much fitter could I get, how many more years would I gain & how would that time be spent (e.g. maybe with dementia?).
I have decided to cut down & have dry days each week - I'll see if there are any noticeable effects.
