What are the symptoms of a lung infection? I have been diagnosed with bronchiecstasis, 3-4 years ago, when I had a CT scan and a lung infection . No coughing since, in fact l wondered if it was a misdiagnosis…. Anyway, I now have a runny nose, clear mucus, and a dry racking cough. Not bringing up any mucus when I cough. I have just taken a test and yes it is Covid, but just wondering if The coughing could be a lung infection or just Covid? I don’t have it badly touch wood, just like a heavy cold. Thanks all.

Depending upon the amount of lung damage, it could be a big deal or no big deal, you could live 50 years with minimal bronchiectasis.
The main symptoms are shortness of breath either on exercise or at rest, productive cough with mucous, coloured or colourless and a predisposition for chest infections.
From what you describe, in my opinion, your present symptoms are are due to Covid, however, do not be complacent as the colour of your sputum and your breathlessness could soon change and depending upon your general oall feeling of well being become a bigger deal necessitating antibiotics.
As for now, your symptoms are due to Covid and not bronchiectasis.

Hold back on the antibiotics for the moment and only use them if your sputum becomes coloured (yellow or green) AND you feel feverish in yourself.
If you feel fine, but your sputum changes colour, I would still lay off the antibiotics but if you decide to take them, make sure that they are not out of date.
