Citalopram, Fingers Swelling

My daughter has just started taki g these, 20 mg. Her fingers were quite swollen thus morning. Has anyone on here taken this anti depressant and experienced this? Or know someone that has.
Is it something she should worry about? Sqad?

It's probably nothing serious but, all the same, I think that I should draw your attention to the following statement in the patient info leaflet:

"Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of the following symptoms . . . call your doctor immediately or get emergency medical treatment:
. . . swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs".

I suggest that your daughter should call 111 for advice.

Thanks Buen, I'll get her to ring her doctor tomorrow. Ive got a vague memory some years ago, my fingers used to swell a bit when I was on a different AD.
I cannot think of a better explanation than that her swollen hands are a side effect of her anti depressant, although it is not a common side effect.
I would monitor the situation for the next week or so based on what you have posted.
No big deal at the moment.
