Just been for yet again for another invasive medical procedure with no answer.
Yet another camera up the rear end, and again removal of polyps. (Plus piles, which I knew about)
+ A biopsy.
Cant complain whatsoever about the NHS. Have been fantastic, as they have been throughout the pandemic...got seen quickly etc.
But why cant I get to the bottom (Pun intended or not) as to why I keep bleeding from my arris?
Polyps removed ...again.
Why Have I at 56 years of age had 20 yrs worth of having polyps removed?
(It started in my late 20's)
Why do I keep bleeding from my backside periodicallly?
Do polyps even bleed? Looking at the camera today it just looked like a bubble which was removed. What causes these 'bubbles' anyway?
thanks.
//You have 2 reasons to bleed rectally....polyps and piles or both....take your pick.//
Thanks,
Thats really put my mind at ease....
None the wise though?
This doesn't answer all your question but it might help a bit. (Specifically, it says that the exact cause of bowel polyps isn't known but they're very common, affecting about a quarter of all people over 50, and that factors like being overweight can increase the risk of them developing):
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/bowel-polyps/
Think positive anyway! Finding out that you've only got bowel polyps is a damned sight better than finding out that you've got bowel cancer! So be happy!

Couldnt agree more ;-)
Just want to know why I keep bleeding from the arriss?
This isnt a recent thing. Its been going on for decades.
Im 56 this year,
This has been happening since my 20s.
Ive been told, constantly, that blood in your stools isnt normal.
(especially after 2 weeks).
But apperentaly it is?
Should I bother my GP with it or not.
Apperently not....
its just a tear, or fissure, or polyp ,or piles....
Wish I never bothered.
It did me Nailit...educated 4 kids, always travelled first class, a villa in the Balearics ...........I never worried about my "bedside manner"..........whatever that is .

//Nailit...they do,//
reluctantly, from what you have posted in the long past.
I still value your medic imput though.
Just cant comprehend your medical intelligence with your personality.
Its at odds....
Medical intelligence I worked hard for, personality I was born with.
You have no idea whether or not I have a medical degree, my input is just that.......a poster on AB.
I don't care whether you take my advice or not especially as there are plenty of links to websites flying around.
