Swelling With Spots On Lower Legs And Forearms

I womder if anyone has experience of swelling and spots appearing on front and side of legs just
above ankle, and also on forearms. Also on the back of shoulder. They eventually scab, itch a bit when scab is removed and after a course of antibiotics disappear. My friend has experienced these twice. He has been stressed at the time and wonder if this was a cause.

Your friend.......is he suffering from any underlying disease and is he on any medication?

These "swelling and spots" are they filled with a clear fluid or pus (yellow fluid)?

What has the GP diagnosed?

I don't think antibiotics would be prescribed or effective for something stress-related. Did the prescribing physician not say what they thought the problem was?

hi sqad. He has no underlying disease but had hip replacement last December. He said his doctor gave no diagnosis, but the antibiotics did clear it. He spends a lot of hours daily on his allotment and says no new plants have been planted. I will enquire whether there was any fluid.

The pus was yellow

The only regular medication he takes is for blood pressure

PS he also takes liquid Gaviscon on repeat presctiption for an acid stomach problem which he has to live with

Thanks sqad. You have been helpful . I have just phoned him and he did wonder if insects were responsible. I told him to keep out of the long grass, wear knee-high boots and long-armed gloves. But he will probably take no notice :)
