Hi there the last couple of days i have had a really sore neck. I thought maybe tension or lying in bed wrong way. Today I spent a lot of time leaning over the computer. Tonight about 10pm I got this really annoying left sided chest pain which I can put my finger on that comes and goes every 3 minutes but keeping me awake. I’ve taken cocodamol and Valium which doesn’t seem to have helped nor does gaviscon. It’s now 6 hours. But my pulse is 70 and my O2 is 99%. Are the neck and front of the left side of the chest in some way connected. I have health anxiety but I haven’t looked at Google. Worries I guess are heart issues like pericarditis, pulmonary embolism MI. I suppose it could be epigastric I had 2 packets of McCoys crisps and a doughnut at 4pm. It is worrying

Yes //Do neck muscles go into chest? They stretch from behind the ear diagonally to the center of the chest at the sternum. These muscles and the deep muscles of the neck can be the causes of neck pain due to muscle strains, muscle tension, and other issues.//

They stretch from behind the ear diagonally to the center of the chest at the sternum. These muscles and the deep muscles of the neck can be the causes of neck pain due to muscle strains, muscle tension, and other issues.//
You need to check your seating position at your pc, it's all available online. Better still try a standing desk, much healthier than sitting.
All your nerve impulses travel through your neck as thats the only path to and fro to your brain.
I think you need to see a doctor (or speak to a pharmacist).
Geordiescotland, it would do no harm to ring an out of hours Dr if you have one or as Canary suggests, speak with a chemist, chest pains should not be ignored, if it is indigestion or anxiety, then no harm done, but best to let some professional know you are having them.
I know your medical history very well, I know you very well.
The pains that you are describing are almost certainly muscle pains, musculoskeletal and are not indeed life threatening in any way.
Stop worrying and take Paracetamol for the pain.

////I had 2 packets of McCoys crisps and a doughnut at 4pm///

LOL.....LOL.....God I do love you geordie.
I do a lot of swimming (around nine hours per week) swimming on average a one and a half miles at a time. I do mainly breaststroke and my neck and shoulders ache like mad afterwards and I feel it when I go to bed and wake up. Nothing wrong with your pulse rate and SpO2 levels. I think you need to contact your GP for advice.
Electro, do you swim the breaststroke with your head and face out of the water the entire time?

I don't swim with my head out of the water for the entire time. I do the proper stroke.
Should have added that includes face in the water.
