Is There An Explanation Or Just A One Off?
12 Answers
I drank more water yesterday than i would normally drink in a 12 month period, not a big fan of just water. Tea and coffee is my thing apart from now and then a glass of 7up.
Now this may be hard to believe, but I had the best nights sleep I've had in ages last night of all nights. I well expected to be tossing and turning, it didn't happen. So was it the intake of water? I must admit during the day apart from feeling a little warm and sticky I felt good. Was the feel good factor down to not drinking my normal tipple of tea and coffee.

In my opinion almost certainly....YES.
Tea, coffee and 7 ups are stimulants and would keep you awake at night and they are also diuretics (make you pass more water ).
So, when you go to bed, your mind is active and you may well be dehydrated, all leading to a bad night's sleep.
Last night was different ;-) and you were well hydrated and your brain was not over active.

You really wouldn't notice the difference with decaf tea, we switched to it many years ago and no one notices. Coffee is different but I have a 1/2 and 1/2 one for my coffee machine which is really tasty.
we're adding a drop of elderflower cordial to our water and its very refreshing. Try a slice of lemon too.

I'm all for giving it a try, you tend to get stuck it a rut sometimes and don't think of making changes, but after last night it got me thinking, ( dare i say outside the box) :0) The latter of your post Maydup is a good idea, never thought of that either. Will put that on my list, not going out today.
^ Funny you should say that pasta, I expected to be back and forth to the loo in the night, but that only happened once, and then head on the pillow and gone again. Mind you fresh air also knocks me out, all windows open back and front with a slight breeze passing through the house, but reading the posts it seems like the water did the trick.
I think folk might Maydup. My women switched to decaf. She used to be really keen on tea and drank it as her main hot drink. Now she tolerates the decaf about once a day, and then switches to mainly decaf coffee, which she says is also not the same as the normal coffee, but more tolerable than decaf tea.
