Is that not more important than watching the funeral live on TV?
Given that the next available appointments might be many weeks, or possibly even many months, into the future, I can't see that there could be any real alternative.
You should be glad - I've had to wait over 5 weeks for a procedure
Shops might shut but, obviously, hospitals will carry on as usual.
That’s a shame JJ, when you phoned did you ask if it could be rearranged?

One conciliation is it’ll be quiet everywhere that day and you should get through quickly. Then watch the highlights in the evening which will be extensive.

Err LOL - I am very happy that my appointment (hopefully) is going ahead - I was concerned that it may have been cancelled due to it being a Bank Holiday. However I will ring on Friday just to make sure - the receptionist did seem a little hesitant.
The last thing HM would have wanted would be for patients to suffer.
Lucky you. My wife had her dental appointment cancelled despite waiting weeks. Cant get through to book another one at the moment.
It seems that my local hospital is bringing some appointments forward and rescheduling others. However urgent treatments, such as those for cancer patients, will still go ahead on Monday:

(It was much the same during the Covid lockdowns. Cancer patients were always prioritised. Even when the chemotherapy treatment centre at the NHS hospital had to be closed, they managed to continue treatments in the corridors of a nearby Nuffield hospital. As I was one of those patients, I was extremely grateful for that policy!)
