also, it will depend if theyve been prescibed or OTC. I used to take top dose (prescription) which was i think 2400mg Per day (slow release, broken into 2 doses)
for OTC ones, top dose is 400mg every 8 hrs

Never seen a 600mg tablet. In my head it's right that I've always gone with 400mg every 4 hours, no more than 1200mg in 24 hours. I'm sure you'll get more precise advice though.

600 mgm Ibuprofen is common on the continent.

For toothache it would be safe to take 600 mgms four times a day with food.

In some cases, your doctor may prescribe a higher dose of up to 600mg to take 4 times a day if needed. This should only happen under supervision of a doctor.
