Yesterday at work, the machine me and my mate were on broke down. We had nothing to do so decided to take some waste plastic to the shredder. There are 3 shredding machines in a big room.
Now normally we would take a big cage full of plastic but all we took was one dustbin full each. I stood on the platform and my mate passed me first bin and i chucked it into the shredding machine, then she passed me the second bin and walked off back into the factory. This never happens. If we are chopping the plastic we usually have a 5 minute skive in the room when we have finished. So as I was there on my own I immediately came out of the room when i had finished.
Walking out of the room I noticed my boot lace was loose, i bent down to fasten it then changed my mind.
I had just left the room and was about 20 feet away when there was a terrific explosion. (Apparently what i can gather happened is this: the shredders are connected to a machine upstairs and a motor in the upstairs machine blew up. This caused the blast to shoot out through the downstairs shredder)
Now if we had taken a lot of plastic to chop, or if we had stayed in the room for a skive, or if my i had stopped to fasten my bootlace, either me or both of us would have been in the room when the explosion took place.
No one was hurt although I was really badly shaken up (my knees were weak, i was shaking and i felt sick and on the verge of crying for the rest of the day)
Now one of the girls said it was a miracle we werent in the room but i reckon it was either a series of coincidences or just pure good luck.
Whats your view on this?

I would say it was a series of coincidences but if you felt that there was a reason why you didn't do up your shoe lace or skive, then that may be ESP- you had a sense that something untoward was about to happen.
Somewhere in the world the same (sort of) thing is happening to someone else, only they aren't so lucky. Accidents happen- some people are hurt, some people are not, some people "miraculously" escape.
Some people believe in guardian angels who are protecting them, but that doesn't explain all the people who aren't protected..
hi scarlett, thanks for that. At the time I didnt feel anything strange we just went in and came out, but afterwards i was thinking wow usually we do this and usually we do that etc. As I definately dont believe in god I put it down to coincidence.
I actually do believe in guardian angels though (but dont believe they are from god) but you are right about the people who dont escape disaster-where are their guardian angels?
* * * * Hallelujah it's a pixi miracle!!!!!!! * * * * * *
