I'm Screaming Here. What Can I Do?

For over two hours I have been listening to the same horrible boring music on the phone from the doctors' surgery. They phoned me last Tuesday to check on me and I ordered a prescription for two inhalers to be sent to my chemist. Phoned chemist this morning as i haven't received them to be told they have not received the prescription.

Doctors don't answer the phone, Doctor says I can't go out as cold will further damage my lungs, my last inhaler will run out tomorrow evening.

That's why I'm screaming.

in my experience it's fine, as long as people do what they're supposed to. In this case the nurse didn't. I waited two months for an X-ray this year before checking and finding the GP had forgotten to order it. But that's not the system's fault, that's iatrogenesis.

I feel for you LB, seeing a GP now is like finding hens teeth, I’ve no idea why
I'm no use at all Lady B.
Some decent music might help. It's not opera I'm afraid, but it is one of the most peaceful pieces I know.....

Right. My phone just made a little blip. I picked it up and pressed the sound button and guess what? Back to the where I started 3 hours ago -press button 1 for ...

Aaaarghhhh!

Hang on they've actually just phoned me. Lovely lady on reception checked for me and found the nurse did not order the two inhalers for me!!! Apologised and said the prescription would be with my chemist by tomorrow morning.

Phew. Guess what I'm going to do now LOL.

Thank you every one of you and Builder, Thank you for the MUSIC.

glad that's sorted, ladybirder, good luck for tomorrow. Will the chemist deliver?
Great! X
The prescription system would appear to need a thorough overhaul. In my experience it's a nightmare.

\\ "You reap what you sow"//
Exactly gulliver, you are now reaping that which you have sown.
So pleased you finally got through to surgery, LB. So darn frustrating and scary, thinking you could have run out of your breathing aid! Now relax x

Prescription service does work most of the time and it's usually the chemist forgetting to deliver that's the problem.

TB Thank you. What wonderful piece of music to calm a person down. I shall pour myself a drink and have another listen.

I don't know why either Bobs. Rarely try to contact them which is a good job if this is the usual carry on.

Thanks for confronting the usual idiot on here Pasta and Vulcan. He's the last thing I need today.

Thank you Patsy, a glass of something nice is helping;-)
I'm sure it is, LB... :-))

Gulliver, grow up and stop being a nuisance.
Its worth looking into options for ordering repeat prescriptions online. We log in and click on what we need each month. Can you see if your GP surgery offers the same service?
Why not move to Germany - fantastic health care for English expats ?
Would that apply now, Khandro? Seriously, OH is wondering about going back to France, we are so worried about the NHS, but I've a feeling that we'd have to start again and pay full private health insurance for the first 5 years - we can't afford that.
‘ Khandro Why not move to Germany - fantastic health care for English expats ?’

A rhetorical question, no doubt.
