Lump On Foot

On my right foot, I have a lump. It is on the top of my foot to the inner side. It is about an inch round. It is hard. I do have a bunion on that foot and it is about 1.5 inches up the foot from my bunion.

It doesn't hurt, (unless I really press it hard) it doesn't move but it is noticeable. If you imagine your big toe, going up towards the ankle, it is above the bone(s) linking to the big toe and about 2.5 inches to 3 inches from the point of my big toe but over that bone to the left hand side.

A bit like an elephant, it is not easy to describe. Should I be worried? Any ideas?

TIA

Is it an extra toe?
Sorry I will behave, I wouldn’t mess around with your feet, make a nurse appointment x
Not a doctor or a typist,a guess Ganglion cyst .
Try hitting it with the family bible, if it goes sway it WAS a ganglion.

I am no typist or doctor but a crazy cat lady I am!

At least you three made me laugh.......

(Mods, please don't remove the answers, since I took them in the manner they were intended)
the family bible thing is true, though any object heavy enough to break it up would do; religious education not necessary. From my experience, if they're the painful sort they're very painful. I'd be taking it to a nurse, if you can find one.

It is not painful at all, jno.

I'm inclined to agree with Anne that it may be a ganglion - having used that to google. I may try hitting it with something. Although the number of times I drop stuff on my feet (often frozen joints from the upright freezer) it may well resolve itself.
Ganglion???...naaah!
It's a bunion........you have worn tightly fitted shoes.
If it is causing problems, then see your GP.......if not, then wait until it does.

It's above my bunion on my foot, Sqad. It's at least 1.5 inches along the bone from the bunion.

I'll try and do a pic at some point.
Oooo that will get the foot fetishised of AB going!
I think it's a ganglion cyst as well bm. I have one on my middle finger. Had it for 3-4 years and it is very gradually getting bigger. It looks as if it has something white inside. Occasionally it will throb. Doc told me to go to the hospital and they would drain it but I had more important ailments at the time so never bothered.
Barmaid. Whatever you do don't bash it. There are lots of tiny bones in the top of the feet. I have lumps just as you describe on the top of both feet. They have been professionaĺly examined and my diagnosis described as soft tissue lumps caused by osteoarthritis. I've had them for years and I've never worn unsuitable shoes.

See a professional!
Yes, indeed. I'd pay good money to see that. :-)

Seriously, I wouldn't.
My lumps don't move about and don't hurt.

I'm not suggesting that you have the same!

That's the only photo I have put on AB that might identify me ! ;o)
I’d recognise that foot anywhere !!
Lol Anne !
Not bad for an old broad MissT
Question Author
MissT - it looks exactly like yours but in a different position. I won't bash it (other than when I bash my foot generally in searching for furniture that my foot thinks I have lost - how the hell I manage to do that almost daily really surprises me).

I'm not going to worry, but the next time I have the misfortune to visit my GP I shall mention it.

And you lot.... pmsl.

Funny and caring all at once. AB at its best.....
Very wise decision barmaid, it is not life threatening, being hard rules out a ganglion cyst which lives a bunion , osteoma or exostosis.
All benign and shouldn't need any treatment.
