How long does it take for her stomach to become empty again ; in order that she can take the medication ?

It's normally because a meal will slow absorbtion, so that one dose might not be quite as as effective. back in the day with patients on the ward I'd have said a banana or other small item wasn't an issue, maybe give it half an hour if you want. However doses need to be spread evenly through the day, so there are negatives to delaying a dose. Swings and roundabouts really.
