i'm currently writing an essay on my idol Kurt Cobain, and i found out that ' though his condition had not yet been diagnosed, he had begun to show signs of narcolepsy, an incomprehesive illness' i just wanted to know what narcolepsy is, what it effects and what the symptoms of it are.

It's when a person falls asleep against their will and cannot be woken in the normal ways. In the film "My Own Private Idaho", River Phoenix's character suffers from it

The late Arthur Lowe (Captain Mainwaring) from 'Dad's Army' suffered the condition in later ofe, often falling asleep while sitting during a performance on stage. His wife, who often acted alongside him, would move close enough to nidge him awake, and he would deliver his next line - obviously having heard his cue subconciously.
