New year new resolutions, so I am restarting the old group. We can celebrate losses and offer support.
No one approach is better than any other here.... Do what works for you.

I won't be giving my weight gain/loss as my aim is to maintain my current weight. That takes just as much effort
My type two diabetes and high blood pressure are not well controlled due to the doctors changing my medication for my kidney failure. This is an ongoing issue.

This is a bad time for me to seriously start dieting, I am working my way through all the stuff in the freezer but I really need to start eating sensibly again.

I am off to do some meditation - I 'may' fall asleep.

A nap sounds like a good idea. I've still not recovered from 11 days over indulgence. I might have a snooze...zzzzz
Health issues both physical and mental can really cause weight problems from childhood onwards. I was a tall and slender and am

I am borderline overweight, basically because of getting no exercise and from essential medication. I eat well nutritionally but only have sparrow sized meals and very little in the way of snacks and I don't drink. Not a cake or biscuit lover, but cheese could be my downfall. I also am a very slow eater which helps to keep weight down and irritates everyone when we go for meals out!

I just want to say that no-one should be judged by their weight. We don't know their circumstances. I would love to be tall and slender again. Instead of being average height with weight around my midriff.

I have a fat friend like Naomi does. She has been fat since we met in our twenties after bulimia in her teens and yoyoing on diets.
Sounds as if it might be interesting but don't really know what you're talking about. Could you provide more info?

Sorry Ringlet, a few years ago a number of us used to join a thread each week , we give our weight loss or gain, offer each other support and take a little pleasure in each other's success. No set diet plan, because everyone has their own ideas, anyone can join in but we do like people to remember that for some it's a hard road, so we try to be constructive in what we post.
Off to a good start. Third of a slice of toast and 2 egg’s scrambled, the dogs got the leftovers
Usual bowl of porridge for me.
65.3 Kg here.

(Are we having a weigh in?)

A sample of what I would eat during a normal day

.Dry pan (oilspray) 2 bacon medallions, scrambled egg and grilled tomato, slice of wholemeal toast, pot of tea, semi skimmed milk from the ¼ pint I allow myself every day. Lunch will be cold chicken and mixed salad, tonight baked fish, a few frylight chips, ( slimming world and weightwatchers ex members will know what I mean,) mixed steamed veggies sugarfree fat free yoghurt jelly/mousse, with blueberries.
If I fancy a snack I will grab a cup soup, or a couple of oatcakes

I find a good high protein breakfast gives me a better start on my day.

First weigh in next week but no obligation to post starting weight. I am going to so folk know how big a challenge I am facing. 19 at 10 lb. And that's down on my immediately post covid 21st 4lb.

Just a quick check in to say good luck over the week end, as it's quite hard being sensible when there are still goodies in the cupboards, on coffee tables and maybe in the fridge. Hide them, give them away, donate to a good bank,... It's easy to resist temptation when it's been removed. Weather's rubbish, you really have to want chocolate to go out in this weather.

Well it's monday....
It's been a difficult week when I have really been tempted to snack to distract myself. So posting just a one pound loss. Should have been more but it is what it is and I am glad I kept some sort of control. How have you all done?
A pound loss is not to be sneezed at.
3lb off this week
A pound is good loss and in the right direction.

While I'd only like to lose a few pounds...my real aim is re-establishing good eating habits. I've been fairly successful...except for the other night when I gave into some Fortnum and Mason boozy truffles.

That's great, I appreciate it will be harder for you RH, it's not like you can fill up with a plateful of greens, so you did incredibly well.
That's excellent Red. I suppose you still need to be very careful with what you eat and amounts. Do you need to avoid anything?

I know Pasta, I am struggling to stand too long so prepping veggies etc is difficult so have been resorting to cheap ready meals and sandwiches more than I should. Need to sort out my freezer and get in some more frozen veg, not so nice but I can just bung some in the microwave. Have switched down my bread from large thick to medium small loaves, which halves the amount I will use. And indirectly the amount of butter spread.
I don’t eat pasta, rice only bread if toasted.
I mainly eat meat and fish with a little bit of salad or veg.
So I can manage (just) 125g steak with a tablespoon on chopped salad, unfortunately though I can manag a lot of naughty food like Pringles, so by cutting out all the sliders that’s how I have managed this week
