Freckle Type Spot Has Come Back. Sqad Please !

I would describe as a small round freckle appeared on my face and gradually grew larger. I had it removed, it was benign. Now it has reappeared in the tiny scar, and again slowly growing. Not raised, itchy or bleeding. Just a mid brown. Dr says it is OK nothing to worry about, and can’t have it removed again on NHS as benign. I wondered before going private, would Efudix remove it as it is apparently deeper in the skin?? Thanks all. Sorry I am so vain …..

This is interesting, thanks. OH has skin tumours all over his head (some on arms and legs) and over the years has had several chopped out. Normally he manages fine with Efudix.

However, during Covid - you've guessed it - no doctor actually laid eyes on him and things seem to have got a bit out of control. Efudix wasn't on his monthly prescription and it went by the way so he was using tiny smears of ancient cream. Guess what? He's now got quite a few 'crusts' including a nasty one on his lower lip.

Saw a dermatologist 6 months ago, who wasn't impressed, and we now have new Efudix. It seems to be working OK on all of them, except for half of the lip one. Half has dried and fallen off. Quandary, do I wait and hope the nasty-looking bit does the same or somehow scream, kick and shout our way to Dermatologist again (he did say to get in touch if worried)?

Is the half "scabby one" on the upper lip or lower lip?
What does the bit that hasn't scabbed look like?

It's on the lower lip near to the left end. The whole thing is now about 3/4 " long. The bit that fell off has left clear crusty bits. The other half is dark reddish black and doesn't hurt says OH (who also says that he thinks it is getting better). We go to the surgery twice a week for the nurses to dress his leg (removed tumour in France years ago - I had one of my first contacts with you about it) but no-one has said anything.

Leave it for a month or so, but if it gets larger, bleeds or itches, then go back to the Dermatologist.

Almost certainly nothing to worry about.

Jourdain after using Efudix on a large freckly mark on my face, which was getting darker, I had a large scabby for five weeks, before it eventually fell off, skin is still a little pink but at least fingers crossed cancer free. Hope this helps. Efudix is very good. Just wondered if it would work on this seemingly deepish rooted freckle before I go private.

I`d just go to the New Victoria Hospital at Kingston. No point in messing around and they are not expensive (I`ve used their dermatology dept)
