MIL Dr's have apparently refused her antibiotics due to the number of other tablets she is on.
Off the top of my head, diabetic, anxiety, pain, blood thinners.

She is telling us she has bronchitis and has had it for a week now.

Your mother in law being as she is I think I'd be inclined to tell her to take her doctor's advice. I wouldn't try to advise her. If you do you can bet your boots you'll be wrong and it will all be your fault.
An elderly person with multiple health problems..... Either the GP doesn't think she has an infection. In which case she doesn't need them nothing to do with other medication... Or she isn't being honest....either about being ill or the antibiotics Maybe trying to get your OH to come and look after her. Based on what you have posted about her all are possible.

I was considering phoning the dr?
If you want to do that, get your husband to do it.
Definitely keep out of it... You don't want to give her any more ammunition.
Antibiotics can have some nasty side effects. I’m sure they know best.
If antibiotics are needed, then they will be prescribed, if they are not prescribed then they are not needed.

Only very rarely are antibiotics not prescribed because of drug interaction or a significantly damaged organ...e.g kidney or liver.

Sqad I just found it very unusual as they normally throw antibiotics at her!
She sneezes and she gets them
Why get involved red ?
< She is telling us she has bronchitis and has had it for a week now.>

She told you not so long ago she had proof you cashed a cheque that did not belong to you. Why do you continue to interact with her? Let your OH deal with it its his mother.
Question Author
She is his mother and I am his wife for better or worse.
Last year my husband was very ill and if interaction with his mother makes his life easier then that is what I will do
Knowing what she's like with you I wouldn't have thought he'd want you to get involved but would rather, for your protection, deal with her himself.
And she may well be trying to manipulate you again, but you still have to go along with it just in case this time it's a real problem. Check with the GP, just in case she has got it wrong but best not to let her know you have done it. I know what it's like to deal with a master manipulator... Sometimes you just have to grit your teeth because it's exhausting battling all the time
Anyone who has read several of the OP's posts should understand that RedH and her husband are very much a partnership. However they are treated by his mother the woman still is his mother. Reading one post as it stands will not give anyone a full picture. I can only imagine the grief that can be caused if this couple ignore any of MIL's moans/complaints. Separated by many miles, of course they have to be involved. Theirs is a predicament I would not relish.
Sqad's response will not surprise either of them, I should think.

I don’t think he has the strength at the moment, he has not said anything but I think he is beginning to feel unwell again
What's wrong with him, RH?
