Is it possible that the letter is not connected and perhaps they are just ensuring that they check everything?
What is the date on the letter?

Day after the scan, they told me if it was suspicious this is what would happen. If it wasn't I could get the results from my GP in a week to 10 days
But the appointment is with the Respiratory Physician, right?

Not with an Oncologist or the Cardiothoracic Surgeon?

If the appt was linked to a sinister finding on your scan, it wouldn't be with the Respiratory Physician.

I would say that this is a crossover myself. The scan wouldn't have been listed for MDT and discussed in the space of a day, unless I'm missing something??
I don't think anyone will be able to put your mind at rest, the best we can say is - that they are acting quickly and taking it seriously and that should put your mind at rest a little.

The respiratory physicians have you at the QE until they have a histology confirmed diagnosis or significant imaging evidence.. So Dave saw that team through bronchoscopy, biopsy ( failed) and eventually they went on PET scan . MDT used to be Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. I suspect this is a we need to arrange a biopsy appointment. Either that or it just possibly could be TB, although it's unlikely as I didn't have my vaccination until my late 30s. The good thing is the consultant is lovely.
Try not to worry (easier said than done, I know).

You are not a strong candidate for a primary lung malignancy.

TB did flash through my mind.

I wonder if the tracking team nudged it through, I worked with them for three years
Before I retired a few of them were at the wedding and they would be the only ones who would know me as Rowan...
Question Author
And the consultants profile.... Specialises in lung cancer diagnosis and management
Shouldn't have looked it up should I
Whatever his Special interests are, he is still a Respiratory Physician and will still deal with all the usual run-of-the-mill stuff.

Please try not to worry.

Pleased you have had this news, rowan. The mind becomes so active when one is that worried. Your training, knowledge and experience would have got you spinning, I have no doubt. "Bloody administrators" indeed! Hope you get some speedy treatment and resolution soon. Take care.
Cake sounds like a jolly spiffing idea! :-)

I've just come across a beautiful recipe for a lemon and blueberry cake with lemon frosting which I'm going to make next week....
Question Author
I do lemon and blueberry( or raspberry, or redcurrant) olive oil and polenta cake... Or rather I did until I let someone borrow my recipe book and I never got it back.
I felt my heart pounding as I read this.
So, so relieved for you. Definitely a good excuse for cake or wine!
