I'm 22 And I'm 5'6 And I Am Really Upset About My Height And I Need Solutions For Growing Taller
19 Answers
I'm 22 and I'm 5′6 I have never been happy with my height and I never will be. I have always been treated poorly because of my height and it has effected me severely. Is there anything that I can do to grow naturally or unnaturally? I will literally try anything to be taller. (Please don't comment “you just need to accept your height” or anything like that. I just want solutions)
I will never be happy or comfortable with my height and I just want to be taller by any means. Money isn't an issue and I don't care how painful it will be. I'd rather not get limb lengthing surgery. Is there any other methods I could try before going to that?

I will add that it will be a big help socially, if you forget about yourself in social situations, focus on the people around you. We all have things in our life that we can't change but most of us don't focus on them. We get on with life and strive to meet goals.
If these thoughts are of no help to you, I would suggest that you try some kind of mental health professional. Life is only so long and it would be good if you could get on with yours unimpeded by your phobia. Good Luck!

You are probably too old for surgery now as all your bones will be in their adult state, it needs to be done in early teens. 5'6" isn't short, but you can make the most of it with really good posture( strengthen your core to make the most of what you have), and the right clothes that can give the impression of a little more height. Lifts inside your shoes could give another inch, plus a chunky heel , would make you around 5 '8" which is pretty average. But at some point you will like someone enough for them to see you naked. ... Then the truth will come out. Better to get help in getting your head round who you are, you can't be anything other than that.
Tom Cruise and Al Pacino are both 5'7, Sly Stallone is only 2" taller than you. Winston Churchill was 5'6. Daniel Radcliffe 5'5.
You are not short, you are average height and it is no barrier to you being successful in what you want to do and happy if you have the right attitude.
You can have leg lengthening surgery in adulthood - it is horrendously painful, takes months to recover from and is extremely expensive. In my opinion the results can look odd because the rest of the body is out of proportion - the arms are much shorter than they should be.
There are much better things you could spend your money on to improve your life - you could travel the world; further your education; start a business; take up a new sport/hobby; have therapy for your insecurities. At 22 you should be grabbing life with both hands and enjoying new experiences. You have a normal, healthy body so be proud of yourself

Agree with Doug, if it's good enough for the five-time Champion Jockey and four-time Derby winner..............

Then you have a mental health issue, not a physical health issue. You need a mental health solution, like therapy, not a physical health solution for something that isn't a physical health problem.
That said, a "quick fix" if you are struggling is to use "lifts" on your shoes and boots. Here's an example:
