how can you remove items in you anus? If a child stuck a piece of candy up his anus, would it be safe to leave it alone if the object doesn't cause pain? Will the object come out when they go to the washroom?

Probably, but why would you want you kid walking round looking like a lollipop all day.
Don't be in the line of fire when they pass wind.
It depends what the object is. If it is something wholly edible which may dissolve then I wouldn't worry, but keep a close eye on the stools. If it has any sharp parts then I would take him/her/you to the doctors who will get it out easily.
I would take a child to the doctor and ask if an enema was in order, just in case the object damaged the lining of their bottom if left in place.
If it's an adult, I'd buy them a gimp outfit next Christmas.
The mind boggles, why would an adult have an item of food stuck there in the first place.
Of course it should be removed otherwise there wont be room for the child to pass excrement
depends how big the child and how small the object. Jellybeans shouldn't cause too much problems, for instance, and normal defecation would push them out. For larger items, or very small children, it might be worth letting a doctor look at it. (A doctor will have seen this sort of thing before.) Personally, I wouldn't do try to retrieve it myself; the tissues are reasonably delicate, and I would think best left to professionals.

it's a gumball... hmm... it obviously won't disolve... should i contact a doctor? or is it small enough for me to leave?
sorry - you're American? - I'm not quite sure how big a gumball is... But if it were me, I'd go to a doctor anyway, just for my own peace of mind as a parent. (You don't say you're the parent, so I'm guessing there too; but in general parents often take their children to doctors for things they wouldn't bother about if it was an adult; doctors understand and expect this.)

ha, no i'm Canadian, and thank you for your helpful suggestions, a gumball is about the size of an american penny? or maybe a bit smaller, thanks again for your help and yes I am a parent.

Just give the doctor a call. He/she may just recommend a suppository. Good luck!

In the meantime you could up the roughage in their diet so the stools will be nice and firm, which would help push it out?

that's a good idea Scarlett, and thanks to everyone for there ideas, what could i give him to eat to make the diet rougher? thanks for all your help.
Lots of fruit and All Bran, which is a high fibre wheat bran cereal over here in London. It's probably got a different name in Canada. We British are often tempted to rush off to the doctors because our National Health Service stops us considering the cost of treatment as readily as parents in other nations. Best wishes.
why ask such a silly question....JUST GO TO THE DOCTOR!
Are you sure it's a child's anus shrimpsushi? or were you and Mr shrimpshushi "fooling around"? My wife is a nurse and she tells me stories about people who "fall onto vacumm cleaners" etc

I was just guessing - east of the Atlantic, where this website is based, 'washrooms' are usually called toilets or lavatories or something. And of course I'd forgotten that you might have to pay to see a doctor (I don't know how the Canadian system works); but I think that's what I'd do anyway. Good luck!

I fone of my boys put sonething up there bum I would definitely take them to the doctors, although some of the thing i have seen on banged up suggest you can manage it yourself. Not recommended for kids im sure

Won't it just poo out? Things generally eject themselves from the anus . How big is American penny?
