MissTerious2, the wife was in for nearly 3 weeks after having our first son because of the infection. It left the wound weak so our other children had to be born via c section as well because of it.
Theshedman. Not good experiences for us wives and you Husbands either. We didn't have more kids, by choice. I had two epidurals for spinal pain relief a few years ago. Neither of them worked!!
Mine, believe it not was an emergency C Section too. So it was made worse. When he was born he didn't breathe for five minutes. Good job I was still under general anaesthetic.
Mine wasn't 'progressing'...I'd been monitored weekly at the hospital and on this day they were considering inducing. Her heartbeat dropped and it was like a scene out of casualty. I heard "crash!"...I was wheeled out, they hurriedly removed my nail varnish...and the last thing I remembered was to let me get the chewing gum out of my mouth(couldn't eat or drink all day).
Husband was amazingly allowed in...I heard he'd turned green as he propped himself up in the doorway.
The thought of giving birth scared the *** out of me so at my first consultant appointment I specified I wanted an epidural whatever happened. This enabled me to get through the next 6 months a little relieved but at a pre-natal class when our partners had to pinch our wrists hard so we could practice breathing through the pain I said to the woman running the class that I was having an epidural anyway. She said almost aghast 'you're having an epidural?' and then asked the whole class in a tone of complete disgust 'is anyone else having an epidural?' which was met with silence. I felt like a criminal...
