Hard lines. I twisted the insertion of the Glut. Maximus in April 2020.
Not a good time, I was offered a telephone physio appointment and the length of time which elapsed before I could get any real phsio. has made complete healing unlikely although now it is tolerable.
My first suggestion would be to see a good physio to get a proper diagnosis. 'Pain' covers a lot of problems.
First do the old R.I.C.E. to reduce inflammation. It's hard to elevate and compress of course. Try cold/heat treatment.
Then very gentle stretches - foot on bottom step of stairs and lean forwards etc.. You should be able to find these on line.
Good luck. Monthly phsio is now helping me, but I have an associated spine problem which the G.M. injury exacerbated.
