...about the legionnaire who speared Jesus as he hung on the cross.
I like to think that this act was an attempt to administer a merciful coup de Grace rather than a piece of gratuitous violence.
Any thoughts?

Some believe the reports of it are the gospel truth.
Some do indeed. Personally I don’t believe he died on the cross.
I still eat fish on Good Friday though. :o)

There's hope for you yet. :-)
Is this on Netflix?
Question Author
I doubt it. Netflix is full of crazy fiction.
A lot of people(including me)even dont believe Christ was born on the 25th December and who believe he didnt die on Easter Friday.I demand proof.
Question Author
^. You're a doubting Thomas.
If the faith is strong there's no need for proof.
But is there any mention of Christs birthday in the bible, sandy? You would think that there would be a brief mention of the 25th of December. As far as i know, nothing. You seem to be an erudite ecclesiastical kind of chap, can you point out any part of the bible where it definitely states Christs birthday?

The dates of some important events have been lost in the mists of time.
Agreeing on a date allows us to join together to celebrate that happy day. Whether it's accurate or not isn't important.
god is some really demanding
die calends XXV diembris

if it aint there, then he wasnt born on 25th Dec

normal Holy Week on AB then

Technically for those who think He WAS nailed to a cross, ( and put King of the Jews ( INRI Iesus nazarenus rex judaeorum) no no - put " he said he was King of the Jews" - no what is written is written )

One (He) hauled himself up wivviz legs to get a breath but this only prolonged the agony. Any one nailed to a cross was gonna DDDIIIIIIIIEEEEE! And so ... the coup de grace was to break the legs.

however the breakers broke only the legs of the robbers, as they "found he was already dead"

You really always knew this innit?
credo quia incredibilis
Tertullian
If there were BBC fact behind it all, then it wdnt be faith

yeah but......

( I believe because it is uncredz. Ancient Forrin. only put in to excoriate and inflame the mods)
Whether its accurate or not?Okay,a few days, but some people say he was born as early as the beginning of September. And some say he was born thirty years BC.Come off it sandy, this is taking the *** with people now.Was he crucified on Easter Friday at all? No,i demand proof.
I am sure a lot of rebels were crucified, I am sure at least a few were called Jeshua it was a fairly common name apparently. What I don't believe is a rebel Nazarene was the son of any god. So whether his legs were broken, he was stabbed in the side, or he just got exhausted and stopped breathing is totally irrelevant.
@18.40.I understood every word you said,Peter,up to the word"god",after that [email protected] understood every word you said up to the word"credo",after that no.
ynna - it something called christianity

The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other.

Jn 19.32

but that of course reader does NOT mean it occurred in June 1932. confusing it is
I've never heard this story before .
didn't they have a few minor hits in the 1980's
Im not convinced. Some leading scholars have suggested that Jesus Christ was born in the year 6BC at least six years before Jesus Christ was born....errr,hold on a minute....
