Fao Sqad Et Al Bro-In-Law Pulmonary Oedema Update Not Good
12 Answers
Hi, just had my sister on the phone. I'm getting really anxious about her as well. She's working herself into the ground and ended up in A&E herself this weekend with a very bad chest infection which stopped just short of pneumonia. It seems that she (like me under different stress conditions) has also developed sudden onset adult asthma.
I am not sure how much worse this can all get.
Bro-in-law spends most of his days in terrible pain and he can't eat. Today he vomited back everything offered, is exhausted and in bed. The nurses are still removing 1/2 a litre of fluid every other day. It is the pain that is so awful. There is no need for pain. It is wearing him down and he will eventually give up, I know. Next hospital appointment (when we hope there will be an answer) is not until 18th June.
Please, any advice? Any at all? Can we insist that a doctor comes to see the situation in its horrible reality?
Highly stressed daughter (single mum, marriage break-up, just sold house needs to move - I'm going over to help her pack) has driven 30 miles to help deal with things over the weekend. We have some practical help easing the garage problem. But people break. We've all worked so hard and contributed all our lives. It's terrible.

I passed on you advice to my sister and she was going to act on it - I don't have the authority of course. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything. Oh! and my neice had a horse she was schooling slip and fall on her - fortunately a small horse and no bones broken for either. Life doesn't let up.
Just to say that BinL seems to have almost given up. We've more or less sorted out the 'living/work' pressures - but it is still hard.
The development is that the hospital has sent a letter bringing forward his appointment, which will now be in a couple of weeks instead of July.
I can't think there will be any good news - but this being just left in limbo to cope is horrible. He's still in pain - but that's partly his fault because he's being stubborn and insisting that he can manage without the painkillers and of course they have a cumulative effect.
Anyway, that's where we are up to date.
