For the past 9 months I have had diarrhea. It only happens in the morning when I have school, or when i am going out somewhere...like to town or to somwehere where i dont know where exactly im going if you know what i mean.My mum takes Mortillum tablets and they stop her feeling sick, however I took one once and it stopped the diarrhea, so from now on (since October I think) i've been taking trhem and i've been alright, however on Christmas night and New years eve i went to parties and it flared up there, I was no very happy!!! lol. But this makes me think maybe because I dont get enough sleep? I went to the doctors in July (it started mid may 2005) and he said there was nothing wrong with me, but it did sort its self out for about 3 weeks. I get it when i drink alcohol aswell, even if its just 1 alcopop. But on weekends where I have no where to go, im alright. Im going out 2 weeks on saturday and i dont know how im going to be any advice would be brill.
Thanx Rich.

First of all i dont think you should be taking drugs you arent prescribed.
Sounds like you might have an allergy or an intolerance but then other things you say makes it sound almost stress related.
First of all go back to your doctor - dont take any s**t from them (excuse the expression) there is obviously something wrong with you and dont leave their room until you are satisfied you have been listened to. It could be something very simple (sugar or dairy intolerance) but you really should see your doctor.

Sounds like a nervous/stress thing to me, you say it happens when you are going somewhere you are unsure of and school etc, and it stopped for 3wks after a doctor told you you were ok.

Is everything else in your life ok ?

If it isnt and you are worried about something, mention this to your doctor too or your parents or a teacher, all of whom can and will help.

I think Motilium is for vomiting, not diarrhoea, and not for long-term use. Your problem could be diet (too much roughage?) or lack of sleep. I agree with gary baldy - go back to your doctor and explain that there is indeed something wrong with you and would he please investigate
Look up Irritable Bowel Syndrome and see if the description rings any bells.

gary baldy is right. A complaint of this nature over a sustained period of time needs checking ASAP. If you're not happy with your GP ask to be referred to a bowel specialist at your local hospital.

Alcohol is a bowel irritant. Also, 'pre going out hype' can cause adrenaline to surge which in turn can cause diarrhoea too.

Rich, there are many good suggestions in this thread. One more I would like to share is to eat yogurt with live and active culture. I was very sick one time long ago, and after rounds of antibiotics, I had symptoms as you have described. Years later, someone suggested yogurt with live and active cultures, and that did the trick. It had something to do, I think, with replenishing the proper bacteria in the bowel. (Isn't this a nasty bunch of thoughts? Sorry!) Anyway, it worked wonders for me.

Sounds like you suffer with anxiety, you said yourself that it happens when you go to school and or trips out where you are not sure where you are going? STOP taking the medication as you dont know what its for, its NOT been prescribed for you and you need to go back to your doctors as you have had this for far too long. You probably work yourself up as you worry about your bowel movements when you need to leave the house (your house is where you feel safe) explain this to the Doctor as he can suggest alternatives that doesn't mean taking pills. Try deep breathing techniques.

sounds like irritable bowel syndrome. i used to get it before i went to school, still do in mornings. think about what you have for breakfast. dairy milk used to make it worse so i swopped to sweetened soya milk on my cereal and it eased off. you have a sensitive stomach and bowel and heavy dairy foods first thing won't help.

I get diarrhea when I've not had enough sleep too but it's linked to the ibs and stress. get plenty of sleep, try altering things in your diet and look up ibs on net. stay off the alcopops they are full of additives that won't help. if you must drink alcohol drink something pure and not fizzy. vodka and orange?

Hi there.

I think your problem is just a case of nerves. When jou are anxious about doing new thing or going to new places and can effect jour stomach and give jou loose stools. maybe you need to learn how to relaxe abit more, and dont worry so much. maybe if you talked to the schoolcouncillor. jou shouldnt take your mums tablets.have a talke to jour doctor also in case it is something more serious. good luck.
