...reduce our carbon footprint?
Bananas and avocados come to mind and a lot of grain comes from the Americas or Ukraine.

I should have been more specific π€. I don't often buy sugar to use...there's a 2 year old box of dark muscovado at the back of my cupboard...and yes there's sugar in my dark chocolate. I try hard to avoid other things containing sugar...but I suppose even a bit cancels out my statement that I don't eat it.
Where's the edit function??? πΆπ
Sandy - if you have an outdoor space I bet you could grow most of your veg and salad requirements to keep you going some of the year - and it tastes so much nicer.
I grew enough lettuce, cucumbers, spring onions, peppers and tomatoes that I have not had to buy any in 4 months.
Potatoes, spinach, cabbage etc a good amount that I have barely bought. Strawberries I only ate my own this year.
I haven't bought sugar for years but some still remains in the container but like Pasta, a little dark chocolate after dinner. Very little sweet food. Neither of us has a sweet tooth. We don't do desserts or cakes But I admit I quite like dark choc kitkats. And I love sweet chilli sauce. I buy biscuits for the gardener who comes about every three months. Hubby loves his home made bread and adds a teaspoon of sugar. He also eats granola. I eat about 10 slices of gluten free bread a week.
We do drink tea and coffee though. Hubby eats granola which is sweetened. We don't eat much meat, and never lamb. I suppose we should stick to British fruit and veg, but I don't. Hubby used to grow a lot of veg, but not for the last few years. He's too busy now being cook and house husband and having a pretty useless wife.
Meat. Paricularly imported beef.
