Why Does Doctors' Surgery Require Me To Explain Declining Flu Vaccination?

Had a text today to say a free flu vaccine was waiting for me and then in capitals to phone the surgery if I didn't want it. I've never requested it so why do they want me to ring them?

Computer stuff.  They'll keep on until you say yes or no.  It's all box-ticking.  They keep on  at OH regarding his Covid jab - despite the fact that they yellow-carded him and recommended nho more vaccinations.

Just say No - they'll try again.  Up to you if you keep saying no.

Because when they come to tally up at the end of the vaccination programme Nurse Ratched will be one flu over.

Most will want it. It's not about explaining. It's telling them.

So they can offer it to someone more grateful.

It's also so they can give you more information if you refuse it  due to irrational fears or 'because of stuff you have read on social media'.

He's had a text so if he doen't reply then they should just take it that he doesn't want one.  NHS know how to waste money.  We have had surveys come from our surgery and they say reply to this survey to save your NHS money as if no reply we will keep sending reminders, even though I have been into surgery to tell them I will not reply to any of these or the surveys they send by text as I do not trust outside companies not to disclose my data.

I get texts saying failure to attend an appointment costs the NHS £160. So if I DO attend it still costs the NHS £160?

davebro3, I always think that if you can  phone to make an appoinment then you can phone to cancel it if you can't make it.  Yes it would cost the same but if you cancel then they maybe able to give it to someone else and cut down the waiting lists.

It's a way of checking that you did receive the text and didn't overlook it.

While you're at it, ask them why they are doing flu jabs so late in the season...they've been available for months.
