Can any of you helpfull ladies tell me how long it took to get rid of excess pregnancy fluid? My baby was born 4 weeks ago & for the whole duration of the pregancy I had severe fluid retention, but not caused by pre-eclampsia and think I am still suffering as I cannot get my wedding ring back on (I took it off 3 weeks prior to giving birth as it was getting uncomfortable & didn't want it to be cut off in hospital)

Thanks

I can't remember exactly how long it was for me but i think you will notice all of a sudden that it will go from your hands and ankles the quickest i was massive and held an awful lot of water and it has taken me 2 years to get back to normal my legs were like tree trunks etc but it goes eventually hope this sort of helped. Congratulations on your little bundle as well.

Thank you tigilou, I did wonder if it took a while as although I put on some weight whilst pregnant my rings were still fitting me for the majority of the the pregancy & it was a sudden increase in fluid that made me take my rings off towards the end. I hate not wearing them as well!
