I’ve known people who have made pension transfers without any knowledge of what their pensions were worth, or what was transferred, or any charges involved.

 

I’m always sceptical that such transfers turn out to be beneficial to the pensions holder, there may be an advantage if one charges lower annual fees, but if they are both defined benefit schemes, I think they’d be best left alone.
