My partner has very smelly poos, they take a long time to wipe away, we have seen on tv that if it stinks and takes ages to wipe then it means something bad is going on in the body.

He doesnt drink, doesnt smoke, we have a very healthy diet, he is slightly underweight for his height, exercises every day, what can be causing the problem?

I would make an appointment at the Docs and be prepared to take a 'sample' along with you! Just because there doesn't seem to be anything outwardly wrong it doesn't mean that things are ticking along nicely else where. He could, of course, just be a smelly poo type of person, and if that the case....rather you than me!!! Good luck, but do get it checked out.
Add some fibre to his diet and some yogurt with live culture. Live culture yogurt adds the "good" kind of bacteria to the bowel. Fibre helps keep the plumbing running well.
It sounds like 'coeliac disease'. If you google coeliac disease, you can check to see if your partner has any of the other symptoms associated with this illness. If it is this, do not despair because you can get special breads and foodstuffs that will prevent 'poo' problems. There is also a support group, I believe.
It may well be just the way he is. I've been just like that all my life (perhaps that's why I'm on my second husband now!!), but am very healthy and fit. We're all different. It's only likely to be meaningful if it's happened suddenly; you know, if his poos used to be pretty and neatly-formed and removed at the whisk of an Andrex sheet.
Does he eat a lot of dairy?
That could be it.
meantime, keep a box of matches in the loo; strike one when finished, it burns away bad smells. It works.

Dear Boobesque I am new to this site, and from the other postings you have participated in I think you have a sense of humour. So to couple to the previous matches comment may I suggest if it's very bad let him strike his own matches, a girl needs her eyebrows. lol.

i will get him to go to the docs, he has been like it for as long as i have known him and before, he doesnt eat a lot of dairy at all, in fact i nag him for not getting enough! i am thinking it may just be the way he is, but watching things like the mckeith woman may have worried him. No harm in seeing the doc though.

Re the matches, i refuse to enter the little room after he has been in there, i wait for as long as i possibly can so my eyebrows are safe :-D

Hi

This certainly sounds like gluten intolerance, i had very similar symptoms when i was diagnosed. I also had stomach cramps and my stomach made all sorts of strange noises!
The fact of being slightly under weight points towards it too.. when you have coeliac your body doesnt absorb nutrients properly.
Good news is, its not serious but a gluten free diet does take some adjusting too! There is lots of support groups though and subsitute foods
