Macular Degeneration

It would be very helpful to me to understand just how badly this is affecting my oldster. I want to know what he can and can't see.

I've asked his consultant but only been told how MD affects vision in worse case scenarios.

Are there any pictures/photos specifically designed for the patient to be asked questions about what he sees? 

He has the usual grid we look at once a month but that isn't really helpful from my point of view.
