I'm in a lot of pain with this, physio said my shoes may not be helping, they are the 'sketchers slip ins'   ive never had it before, only since wearing these, does anyone have any recommendations for a shoe/trainer that would help a slip on preferably as I cannot bend to do laces.

I don't like Sketchers. There's no support in them.

My choice is Legero trainers. Yes, they do have laces but also zip up at the side. Yes, they are expensive but well worth the money. I'll look for a link for you.

Here you go. You might be lucky and find some on sale somewhere...Amazon do sell them.

Thanks Tilly thats a great help

I agree with tilly sketchers look great and feel great, nice and comfy when you first start wearing them. But the material soon stretches out of shape and your foot goes on the wobble all over the place. I now by shoes with a much higher heel and mak sure it has a well built sturdy sole. Sketchers soles are weak and sloppy. Ok if your young i suppose and have no problems.

I hope so, Fruitsalad.

A higher heel to toe is recomended for this problem.

I had the same issue of no support with sketchers...I was shocked with how wobbly they felt...and they made my knees feel worse too.

Which ever shoes/trainers you buy I would advocate exchanging the laces for "no tie shoe laces" (available on ebay). My OH cannot bend down to tie laces and finds these invaluable. He is now able to put all shoes on with a shoehorn without bending down. You might try looking at Flyflot shoes.

I should have have added "a long handled shoehorn" preferably a rigid one. Also Flyflot are part of Pavers shoes. Good Luck.

This might be relevant:

The recommendation about elastic shoelaces is good advice. You will have a greater selection of shoes to choose from and better control over how your shoes fit. https://caterpy.eu

From Gemini: You should look for shoes with good arch support, a cushioned heel, and a slightly elevated heel (about 1 inch). https://gemini.google.com

I use Slazenger slip-on  trainers day to day.
