What causes the gristle type knots that you sometimes get in your back. I had one in my shoulder the other day and now its disappeared. Is it tension? muscles? imagination?

I suspect the knot was a small muscle spasm caused by poor posture, muscle tension or stress. Often they can be massaged away and when the muscle relaxes the gristly knot "disappears".
Along with the possibility of poor posture, I find I get them if I have been sitting typing at my lappy for a long period of time. I don't know if it's the act of typing or the fact I am rarely moving. Take a hot bath and get your man to give you a relaxing massage ;)
