My boyfriends balls are sore itchy and peeling. He went to the doctors and he prescribed Daktacort of all things for "thrush". It seemed to clear up for a ew days but is heading back the way it was. The poor guy can barely move when it gets bad.

Have any guys here had the same problem? I am not entirely convinced the doctor was right but saying that neither was the doctor. Any ideas to stop him from scratching.

Boxing gloves?
It could be ringworm. This usually develops in the groin area and spreads outwards to include the top of the inner thighs. It can also develop in other hot, sweaty areas of the body. Definitely something for the doctor to examine and prescribe for.
Obvious things like avoiding tight or sythetic underwear. If I were him I would wear no underwear and make sure you are really dried properly once out of the shower.

no underwear though is a problem because they rub on his trousers, and make them split.
If I were him I would take a few days off work and wear no underwear and no trousers. Wash carefully, dry even more carefully (in the air, not with a towel) and lie and watch lots of films. If it is an infection this won't help, mind.
Apparently, it is possible to transfer Athletes Foot to the genital area, but I'm not going to ask how.
Could it be a stress related exzema?

You can get that in all sorts of places, such as your bum etc and it is excrutiatingly itchy and of course you cant walk round scratching your bum all day can you?

Scratching makes it worse anyway. Its the scratch, itch, scratch cycle thing. Would suggest that if he is stressed he mentions this to the doctor.

Maybe a steroid cream could be prescribed? Poor chap must be very uncomfortable and embarrassing.

ty, it is embarassing and quite frankly if he has his hands down his trousers one more time when i look at him i am gonna scream. I havent been near liyyle cyril sneer for a month now, i got needs.
Talking of itchy testacles. I had the snip many years ago and since then, I've had an itch in exactly the same place on my scrotum. It can be so bad that I've had to use a bristle brush to ease it. I told my GP and he gave me cream, but that will only ease the itch for a few hours. If I should accidently start the itching off, I have to try to scratch wherever I am, and it looks as though I'm playing etc.
I've had itchy testes too! It is a very frustrating, irritating, embarassing and debilitating complaint and Drusilla shouldn't mock the afflicted.
Within her reply is a kernel of truth, however. The itching could be caused by the same kind of yeast infection as Athletes Foot. And if you exercise your nads as much as me it's no wonder you can get athlete's testes.
I have used various Athlete Foot creams on the affected area (Mycil cream or the Boots equivalent work well - especially when used in conjunction with the powder - a winning combination!) and they have kept the irritation under control. Doctors also advise spending as much time as possible in the nude - to allow air to circulate.
Hope this helps.

try some nivea or zinc and castor oil cream that you use on nappy rash my husband gets this and we have put it down to the cold weather and not shaking it enough so getting a dribble in his pants and causing him to get chapped also could be washing powder or fabric conditoner upsetting him you never know when the makers change them
