olive oil on your face
i read an article about putting a couple of drops of olive oil on your face at night and that within a week your skin would be much better!! Seemingly helps not just dry skin but blemish prone sking? Did also point out that you needed to ensure you removed it thoroughly in the morning. Has anyone tried this? I have found olive oil soap to be good.

As the oil is high in Vit. A & D it can help skin conditions, so should be ok for rubbing in. Chemists sell high grade olive oil for medicinal use by the way.
I remember just after the last war when I was a very young girl and cosmetics as such were either on ration or not available at all, my mother used to buy a tiny precious bottle of olive oil from the chemist (long before it was used for cooking) and use it as a skin moisturiser. She continued this practice for most of her life and when she died at 91 her skin was still as immaculate as that of a baby. It's certainly a lot cheaper than all the modern stuff which is currently on sale in the chemists and probably just as effective as long as you take care to wipe the surplus off and avoid soiling pillows and bed linen.
