Visualise chocolate in it's component parts - bitter cocoa sweetened with vast amounts of sugar and chemicals.
Imagine what the fat does when it gets into your body, settling in huge lumps under your skin and coating your internal organs.
Usually puts me off!
Or, you can give in a LITTLE and indulge yourself one or two bites of your favorite food. If you deny yourself, you usually binge but knowing that you are allowed SOME may be all you need. A craving is usually satisfied after one or two mouthfuls anyway.
As above, and read the ingredients list. It was quite a shock to me when I first realised that chocolate is about 35% fat.
I buy curly wurlies, put them in the freezer and break off a small piece. Then I still get a little bit of chololate and caramel but don't eat the whole bar.
Have a cup of chamomile tea with a little bit of honey to sweeten - or a hand full of sweet raisins...sounds boring, but often I am just craving the sweetness and these foods get rid of that craving...most of the time anyway!

I did the Paul Mckenna thing of imagining something disgusting on a plate.Squeeze your thumb and little finger together and at the same time think long and hard about the plate of whatever and imagine yourself picking it up with a fork, putting it into your mouth and chewing it. Then think of the thing you want to NOT eat and imagine it mixed in with the yukky thing. For me its a plate of human hair - er, thats the disgusting thing not the yummy one!!!lol!!! Everytime you get the urge to eat just squeeze the thumb and finger together and imagine the plate

I do actually eat chocolate sometimes - I have a bar of good quality, very dark chocolate - because it's supposed to be relatively good for you - and I have one square when I'm feeling deprived. That's if my other half hasn't polished the whole bar off before I get to it!
Brush your teeth with a really minty toothpaste - anything sweet tastes awful after that.I just che gum all the time and that helps me cos I subconsiously think I'm eating.I can even do tricks with it - doing a converse bubble gum pop (thats into your mouth) and fave is winding it at least 50 times round my index finger. All disgusting but I love annoying people:)
I've never actually been on a diet - but like Drisgirl, I find that chewing gum makes me not think of nice & naughty things to eat.

You know when they do those plastic surgery programmes and you get to see all the fat they take out and all that liquid they get when they do liposuction. Well just imagine all that comes from eating the crap and it'll put you right off!

or brush your teeth, that makes me not want to eat anything for a while.

if you cut all these things out completly on a diet then that diet wont last long!
