No.
not too often but when it happens it lasts for part of a minute, not ages.
Just a passing glance that lasts a little longer than usual - but nothing life defining.
Yes I did on a bus - first time I saw him I was blown away so I gave him my number and got off at my stop - we got to know each other and became friends. Didnt last long though.
I sawa girl in HMV once, and couldn't stop looking at her, but didn't think there was any way that I could get talking to her, so I walked out. 10 paces down the road I decided that I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I didn't at least try something so I went back in. Cue an extremely embarrassing Hugh Grant in Four Weddings sort of speech as I vainly tried to explain that I wasn't some sort of weirdo I just thought she was beautiful etc.Half way through I began to realise that there was probably no chance of a pretty girl accepting an invitation from a random stranger to grab a coffee, and she cut me short saying that she had a boyfriend. The James Blunt feeling left me then, but the high from having done something that normally I would NEVER do stayed with me for a couple of days. I haven't done anything like it since, and I'm not sure what it was that came over me that day!

I was in a coffee shop and experienced that rather lingering eye contact with an absolutely stunning guy. Sadly I had to leave to meet a friend, when I met up with my friend couldn't stop telling her about him (odd as I'd only seen him for about a min and never even spoken to him) in an odd way I knew that was not the end of it. An hour later we went into a bar, stood at the bar waiting to be served and the bar man turned round it was him. Again there was a really intense eye contact, and it felt like the world stopped. My friend and I sat down and had our drinks and left. As we got to the underground about 2 min walk from the pub, someone tapped me on the shoulder, he'd followed us out, he gave me his number claiming the eye contact was simply surreal, and he felt he had to stop me going. We had fun for a few months together, a relationship wouldn't have lasted, but now were really good friends and I feel like I've known him all my life. I'm still haunted by memory of the first time we saw each other, it was unexplainable.

Yep, she worked at a local bar & it was spooky. I wasn't drunk or anything & my girlfriend was with me at the time & she noticed something. She was convinced something had gone on. Needless to say it was a quick pint & away.

I have always found that the most intruiging girlies I have noticed have always had something about them the longer I look at them the more it makes feel better...it's tricky to describe.

I met a grily once on a paintballing trip of all places, she had the most amazing piercing blue eyes and I didn't stand much of a chance with her as I was still trying to get over an ex and also most of the day she'd seen me in full combat gear and face mask and that's pretty unattractive.

Yes, it happened to me twice. The first one was when I was 15 at a rock concert. I looked up, and a few feet in front of me was this guy, who was smiling at me. I was absolutely entransed, it was like one of those few seconds when you feel like the time has stopped. Unfortunately, there were so many people that I soon lost him in the crowd. I still remember his eyes from time to time !

The second time was at a music festival, in France. I was walking in the street with my friend, but she had gone accross the road to talk to someone. I stood there, and saw this guy leaning against a car. He was looking at me, with the most beautiful eyes and smile. I don't know what got into me, as I'm normally quite shy, but I went to talk to him, and 5 minutes later we were snogging against the car, in full view of everybody ! lol We were together for 2 and a half years after that. So yes, I believe in those spooky chance meetings !

Hi Frizzytwig....yep, I did...I did. I was out with my mates...saw this chap and thought 'phhwwwwooooar'.. he was lush! Anyway, I didn't have the nerve to do anything about it and certainly didn't think that he'd noticed me. Anyway about 6 weeks after that, I was at Chuff Chuff (an overnight clubbing venue type thing - wicked) and 'lush man' was there! I went to the bar and downed some more JD....I was then VERY drunk and approached him and said "fwid akdkf ajdkfjd"....he laughed out loud and asked me if I'd messed up my chat up line! I ended up going out with him for almost 4 years! On a negative note...it ended... But it was a good beginning!
yeah - but i usually acted on it and at least talked to the person. now that i'm married I don't think I'm allowed to make eye contact with strangers. Or is that take candy from strangers?
All these answers revolve around 'beautiful' people I think if you see a stunning person you are gonna get some sort of weird feeling (probably lust) but I have had this happen very strange thing happen to me twice and it was definately NOT an attraction thing. The first time I was going down Kings Rd in London I was only about 15 I walked passed this very normal older guy our eyes connected for a second, my stomach went over my first thought was that I knew him really well, then realising i didn't I felt incredibly sad - he hesitated too as if he was going to speak to me but continued on, i was left feeling totally emotionally drained it is something i will never forget!! the second time was recently exactly the same thing but this time is was an old lady, i still feel sad now when i think of her, it is all very odd!! x x
Indeed 'beauty' can be perceived differently by people as tastes do vary.

I know the feeling Danni, often I see people that I think I know and it turns out I don't but most people are stuck into the 70's idea about not talking to strangers and stuff so we walk on and are left wondering why the heck we never said hello even if to break the ice.

I don't think it has that much to do with the other person being "beautiful" as in "pretty". It's more of an attraction, some sort of recognition, and I think it's more about charm, something in their eyes that speaks to you. There are lots of "beautiful" people around, but you don't feel this with all of them ! Indeed, you can feel attracted to a lot of different people, considered "pretty" or not. It's quite strange, really.

For me, often.

The song is written about James' actual encounter with an ex girlfriend on a subway, she was with her new boyfriend at the time. So not a stranger, apparently.
Good old Jame's Blunt paints an honest picture, only people I see in subways are usually drunks or people wanting to pickpocket people....not to mention most people had urinated in them too.
Well it was a crowded place
On a different note someone needs to help James Blunt to lose his voice or indeed dissapear lol

yes!! A beautiful guy at the fez club in Bristol about 8 yrs ago, I was going to pluck up the courage to walk over and got side tracked by Sambucca.

On another note but relatively similar, I went to lunch with a friend a couple of weeks ago, a guy (nice looking with Owen Wilson hair) crouched at our table and endeavoured to tell me I was beautiful and that after he saw me smile, he had to come and take his chances before he had to go back to work and ask me out on a date. I looked around to see if anyone was laughing cause I could not believe it wasn't some kind of joke. Alas, I thanked him for being kind and explained I was engaged to which he responded " Thats a sahme cause I'll be thinking about you for a long time" My heart melted, if only something like that happened every day.

Yes, it has happened to a few times before - but what can a guy exactly do with out getting really embarrassed ..?? :-( I always fall sooo shy
