Chimpanzees have been observed doing what appears to be tongue kissing, so with that in mind, it may be a natural behaviour.
Lips are a very sensitive, soft and warm part of the body. It is natural that we should want to stimulate them
I have read that women hormones respond positively if they kiss a man with a complementary immune system. I'm not sure which research this assertion was based on, but you could look it up - probbably something to do with HLA (Human Leucucyte Antigen) types = "tissue type ".
