For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.As with any drug trial, you're stepping into the unknown. It's ok testing on mice and beagles but they can't tell you if they feel nauseous, have a headache, feel happy, sad or whatever.
They would in all likelihood have very little or no insurance/guarantee's in such a field as this and would have had to sign a waiver to that effect. Adversely, the drug copmpanies would have a limited duty of care, but as this is experimental on willing participants they're(the human guinea pigs) on a sticky wicket. Unless the drug comapny weren't totally above board in all aspects, but that has to be proved.
In short a legal minefield!
